New Recycling Site
OCRRA, the solid waste disposal and recycling agency has opened a new Community Collection Center that may be convenient to Lyncourt and the North Side. The site is located at 6085 Court Street Road, between Carrier and Military circles, off Route 298.

Parks Events Successful
According to our Parks Department, the Bass Pro Tour event here this summer produced a positive economic impact of $2.4 million. In addition, the estimate is that Onondaga County received more than $400,000 worth of free TV time. The department’s out-of-pocket cost for putting on the event was approximately $85,000.
Also successful was the 2007 Balloon Fest. Good weather led to a record gate at the three-day event, Parks officials reported. The event is sponsored by Onondaga County, a hot-air balloon fanciers group and a booking agency. The County’s after-cost net this year is expected to top $17,000, exclusive, of course, of the goodwill this popular event generates every year.
